A lady talked to me on the street of my home town Oamaru (Population around 14,000), a number of years ago, and quite proudly stated that she had never travelled beyond a radius of 5 miles from her home.She was in her early 70′s and frankly if my car had of been available ,I would have driven over the hill to see ” the promised land”!
She had missed so much of the world, the excitment, seeing new things, smelling and tasting different foods,experiencing new cultures.
To me it was sad…very very sad …what this lady had missed in her life….for whatever reason.

I love writing about the many towns, cities and countries I havehad the priviledge to visit in my lifetime.

There are many amazing stories I want to tell, and over the next few months, you will hear some pretty incredible adventures, told in a way that I hope you will feel you were there with me!
