Never Say Never !

I want to encourage you, motivate you, exult you , uplift you, commend you, and …..thank you!!!

To the increasing number of readers from over 90 countries , some who have struggled to embrace my ramblings,to those who  have bookmarked this page and faithfully read it, learned from it and may have made a comment in the blog section…. may I say how much I appreciate you .Thank you for telling your friends about this site too!!!!

Christmas is a very special time for us , as we celebrate  the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We enjoy the festive time and activities that are associated with Christmas but they are secondary in importance. I like the little ditty that goes ” Jesus Is The Reason For The Season! “

Your faith , the  inspiration that keeps you going , keeps you motivated and keeps you on track, whilst it  is a personal choice , but please understand it is a hugely important one when one day we will have to give an account for our lives. What we do in life  as well as what we didn’t do. That might be even more important as good works and deeds don’t give you acceptance in Gods eyes.

Christmas is a time of reflection. Many ask what was the highlight for me this year.

It does not take long to decide that it was getting to know Richard.

Richard is a middle aged Wheelchair bound, non-speeched ,extreme cerebral palsy affected person. Everything needs to be done for Richard, assisting with eating, bathing, Toileting, Wheel chair Pushing, lifting …..

I have often though how I would have coped all these years as Richard has. I thank God that he has spared me the disease that has crippled Richards life. Sitting all the hours in a wheelchair, being tossed and bumped along the  pot-holed footpaths , roads and uneven curbs , being stared at spoken down to , patronised , thought of as “a cripple” .

But the smile I get that lights up Richards face , the one or maybe two words that Richard struggles to release from the inner most part of his being makes this time we spend together for me a precious time that God has allowed me to experience.

It has taught me Humility , learning me to be humble. To wheel this man down the main street in full view of the many friends and acquaintances  I know in a small town, where I was well known in business and social circles took pure guts…and to see some who knew me turn away and deliberately look the other way or completely ignore you… hurt so much. To hand feed an egg only sandwich with a teaspoon and carefully pour coffee down Richards throat ….some would even raise their eye brows…..but all that aside Richard and I  have a relationship of Trust and Respect that surpasses all  normal worldly understanding .

I would love to see Richard walk or talk . It would be a Miracle. I pray for that every day . Almost always as I wheel him along those Pot-holy footpaths.

And while as a Born Again Bible Believing Holy Spirit Filled Christian, I know that God can and does perform miracles … I have to rely on God for that Miracle ….if he does he does …But I will never Say Never!!

And when Richard passes on to a better place that God has provided for him called Heaven, I will not be sad, as I know he will be there with no ailments ,frailty’s or disabilities, and I would have been the one that has been blessed so much.

May Richards story and the many just like him, reflect in your thoughts this Christmas.

Merry Merry Christmas to you

I will write again soon
