Can You Be Sure Be Sure?
Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009Will we learn from past Economic mistakes? Have we learnt from the Economic Global Recession?
We are now being told that the ” recession ” is over. But in the case of New Zealand’s recovery, it is solely based on four quarters of economic growth in positive territory.
But the last quarter just ended our recovery only just made it over the bar….by less than half of one per cent.
To me that is hardly convincing!!! It is still too close to call.
And our dollar is soaring it makes me wonder how our Exporters are going to cope, with profits slashed but costs rising.
The only people who will benefit from sure a high dollar ( 72 New Zealand cents = 1 United States Dollar.are New Zealander’s travelling abroad and buyers on Amazon.com.
Hard to believe in May it was .49 cents to 1 United States Dollar. So what has changed ?
I believe not a lot. With the Northern Hemisphere Winter almost upon us, that will BRING FURTHER HARDSHIPS TO THE AMERICAN ECONOMY, my word of advice is to tread softly softly.
Keep the credit card well hidden and if you need things for Christmas DON’T buy on credit!!!
There will be big inducements for people to spend to kick start the economy again, but if it brings you financial ruination , I don’t think the retailers why helped you get into it will bail you out.
Remember many people die in a Hurricane by thinking the hurricane has past because it has gone quiet, only to venture out and be blasted by winds that were always there , but you had been protected by being in the Hurricanes Eye.
I think that is where we are now!!!
Dont be fooled by the so called experts….or the drips under pressure…..
I will write soon. More positive times will follow ….and they will be worth waiting for!!!!
