When Good Health Is All You Have Got!!

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

I say that with tongue in cheek! It should be one of the most important aims and objectives in life and that is to keep good health. Good Physical health. Good Mental Health., Good Spiritual Health.

Yet I see and hear some many people who could not care a darn if they live only to 20.  And those a little older don’t care if they reach 65 the traditional age for ” retirement”.I know illness and a slow painful death is something we all fear or find difficult to accept, but surely if you have the right number of  fingers and toes, you can still remember your name, and see and hear…..then it should be a cause for celebration.

Do you know the one thing billionaires and the extremely rich fear the most? It even would surpass the fear of losing all their wealth .

That is losing their health. Poor health robs you of your dreams. Poor health limits the number of choices you have in life. Poor health limits you to where you can travel to.  It is our dream to get away in winter to somewhere warm . Not to lie on some white sandy beach and drink cool orange juice but rather be in a place that warms our heart in being able help the less fortunate. Somewhere in Brazil, Ecuador or Colombia.

The world is an incredibly wonderful place to explore with so much culture and diversity  so much to see and do and so much you can do that if you are able to, could make a huge difference to others.

That is why I love our involvement with TEAR Fund . Simply for less than 3 cups of coffee a day we can make a huge difference to 8 little children from all corners of the world . And the rewards are absolutely breath taking for us.

I want you to tell you what a little girl Karola who lives in Manta on the coast of Ecuador wrote . She has just turned 13 years of age. This letter was only received in the last 2 days.

‘”  I am very glad and grateful to God, because he allows me to write your dear sponsors Lindsay and Dalaine Walker.I received your letters, card and photographs you sent me with love. This demonstrates that you often think of me  and I would like to remind you that you are very important in my life and I will always ask God to Bless you. I am very glad to know you think to visit my country to meet me. From now on I will ask God to make this dream come true.

I regret to say goodbye, but I would like you to remember that you  are part of my family , since I consider you like my parents. With love…..”

It is little wonder I pray much and little wonder why I am counting the 332 days down until we leave for South America Again.

My Ernest wish and prayer for you right now is that you may have good Health for as long as you may live!
